i can hear you in the morning singing through my window like a bird when the wind blows through my curtains i can feel you moving through the room but i just want to see your face tonight i've been seeking fame and fortune drinking from the tables of the kings thought i've reached the depths of wisdom but i'm still lost, oh i don't have a clue 'til i find my way back home to you if i can see your face if i can hear you cry if i knew what to say if i can ease my mind i can find my way back home to you i can find my way back home to you

AURORA If I call you Henry, will you call me Walden. I will be your shelter, I won’t let the cold in. I would march to my own rhythm, if that’s what I seek, Three times I’ll wash in the Jordan, can you make me unique. Will I hibernate in winter, Will I wake up now in spring, Aurora changed my days to seasons, Aurora makes new everything. When you wake up, in the morning. If I call you lightning, will you call me thunder. I would be your moonlight, but you would choose another. I would march to my own rhythm, if you show me how. I would fly by your sunset, but my wings are melting now. Will I hibernate in winter, Will I wake up now in spring, Aurora changed my days to seasons, Aurora makes new everything. When you wake up, in the morning. Hey Aurora, Goddess of the dawn, Hey Aurora, the grass is ris’n and spring has sprung. When you wake up, in the morning.

Many names have crossed our paths some we mourn and some we laugh all I want to say to you is just forget about them I'll be the one when you're old and grey loving you still when your bones decay so all of the boys you've ever thought of just forget about them you've got worries and I've got fear we're reaching into the deep unknown all I want to say to you is just forget about them

I know you, you know me let's get lost on the bus ride never ending conversation about you and him, and us and them We greet sun's rise, good morning look at time's little hand passing by one to twelve numbers reminds me of inseparable days Distance came in many ways stranger friends, different city but the promise of love on fire the crossroads lead back to you

Look back on a time When there is just me and you We promised to each other that We will fight the world Clear the smoke and the dust Take our weapons from the chest Time has made us old But our rage is forever young I can hear your voice Calling out to me From the waking world It bleeds into my dreams Only time will tell All's well that ends well I want you around Right out of my dreams We are fighters both, you and I Engaging in silent wars Since the time we were born When we don't know each other yet Break down the walls and the fences We are an army of two No one else can tell us What is wrong or right Words & Music by Erick A. I’m just a pumpkin in a pumpkin patch I’ve got a big orange body and a little brown hat. And I’m surrounded by all my pumpkin friends And my pumpkin friends tell me we’ll be friends ‘til the end. Life couldn’t be better, pumpkin life is great. Oh look, someone’s picked me up and taken me out the gate. I’m in a car with a man and his wife and a boy With my pumpkin friend beside me, both of us filled with joy. Well now we’re in out new home this new life should be grand. This house is really huge, let’s give this family a hand. We’re sitting on the table then my pumpkin friend said, “Why the hell do I have this giant knife in my head?” So I turn and look and sure enough my friend has been stabbed. And the knife it keeps on going deeper with every jab. Then when they finish scalping him the gut his insides Where the hell am I?! This is pumpkin genocide. Pumpkin genocide. You don’t realize, that every year we cry A tear of pumpkin pain. As you slowly scoop out our pumpkin brains. So my friend gets mutilated right in front of my face. Then the boy he picks me up and puts me in a new place. He says, “If you believe in God then you better pray, ‘Cause this is your mother fucking judgment day!” So I cried and pleaded with him but it was no use. He cut the top of my head until it became loose. And he gutted me and carved a stupid face on my side. Now I’m a victim of pumpkin genocide. When he took out all my seeds he just threw them away. He didn’t bake them or save them for another day. And he stuck a candle in me and just let the thing burn. It burned so intensely that my stomach it turned. Or at least it would have turned if it was still in me. But it was removed with my heart and my spleen. And now I’m in a dumpster, depleted and old. Covered in black and white and stinky old mold. (This is) Pumpkin genocide. You don’t realize, that every year we cry A tear of pumpkin pain. As you slowly scoop out our pumpkin brains. You don't realize. Every year we cry.

about

This second instalment of the magazine features a myriad of local talent side by side with contributors from countries as far and varied as Saudi Arabia, England, and The Philippines. The magazine has expanded its content, and now features graphic art work and photography, as well as, short stories, translations, and non-fiction pieces, in addition to poems that are sure to catch the interest of readers of a broad range of taste.
RECEPTACLE plans to follow up the digital release with a limited run print edition to be made available at select locations in and around Long Beach and London, as well as a release party to promote the artists included in the issue. The locations for the print edition will be posted on the web.

“We’re quite proud of our contributors, and honored that they’ve given us the chance to be the medium to introduce their work to the world,” says co-founder Alexandre Rodallec. ”We’re working very hard, regular all-nighters now for the third issue, to keep growing: expanding the staff - to have a larger team out there finding, hunting down the art we think people should see, and expanding/improving the magazine, both in terms of art forms included and it’s online/print combination, which is a very exciting and relatively unexplored platform for art publication. Anyone comparing issue one with issue two will notice that growth, and just wait till you see the third issue. We will continually get better and larger as a magazine, that is our commitment. Our mission is to share captivating art with as many people as possible, and to promote the creators of that art, and that, is a beautiful thing.”
